Union Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia Said on Friday that India will develop four heli-hubs in India- Mumbai Juhu, Guwahati, Delhi and Bangalore (HAL Airport).
“We have identified 10 cities and 82 routes to develop helicopter corridors across the country, starting from 6 between Juhu-Pune-Juhu; Mahalaxmi Race Course-Pune; Gandhinagar-Ahmedabad-Gandhinagar. To promote helicopter emergency medical services in India, 3 expressways (Delhi-Bombay, Ambala-Kotpuli and Ambala-Bhatinda-Jamnagar) as well as heliports will be developed. These will ensure timely evacuation and medical treatment for the accident victims,” he said at a helicopter summit in Dehradun on Friday.
“A dedicated Helicopter Acceleration Cell will be set up in the Union Aviation Ministry, which will provide regulatory and policy direction for ease of doing business for the helicopter industry. Under the new heli-policy, helicopter operators will be exempted from paying parking deposit and landing charges. Adequate training will be provided to Airports Authority of India and Air Traffic Control Officers. We will work closely with all state governments to make it easier for the helicopter industry to do business.
