New Delhi: Union Minister Nitin Gadkari On Thursday, the government has issued an advisory to car manufacturers to install flexible-fuel engines in vehicles.
Addressing an event, Gadkari It also said that the government is working to encourage the use of green and alternative fuels.
“Yesterday, I signed a file on flex-fuel engines (advising car makers to make flex-fuel engines). We have given them (carmakers) six months (those running on more than one fuel). To introduce flex-fuel engines in vehicles),” he said.
Flex-fuel, or flexible fuel, is an alternative fuel made from a combination of gasoline and methanol or ethanol.
The Minister of Road Transport and Highways said that companies prefer TVS Motors And Bajaj Auto It has already started production of flex-fuel engines for its two-wheelers and three-wheelers.
Gadkari said, “Soon, four wheelers will run on 100 per cent ethanol. Hence, we will not need petrol… and, the use of green fuel will save our money.”
