From Rani to Sara: Glass bangles are a hit – Times of India

Bangles are an important part of women’s accessory box. For a long time we have been seeing women wearing bangles made of metals with kundan, polki or diamonds. But the humble glass bangle was lost somewhere in oblivion. Once upon a time in a blue moon we would see someone wearing minimalist and cheap glass bangles. But with the changing times, the trend of wearing glass bangles is back once again. They are having a moment in fashion, thanks to the likes of Rani Mukerji and Sara Ali Khan, who are styling these colorful jewels with sarees and suits. What is the reason behind this revival? Designer Siddharth Bansal says, “Glass bangles are beautiful. With the changing times, we have somewhere forgotten its beauty and elegance. It was a matter of time, women started embracing these bangles again. And no one can beat the allure of these colorful bangles.”

But like every trend, there is a twist to it. Instead of wearing these bangles in both hands, our fashionistas are choosing to wear them in just one hand, but that’s a handful, literally.” For Rani Mukerji’s recent sari outing, we made her look by choosing a matching shade from Masaba. Complementing printed sarees. Bangles and adorning them in one hand. She looked charming,” says stylist Vikram Seth.

While picking the glass bangle make sure it is the right size that fits your wrist. Also, choose bright and bold shades this season.
