From Jats to Defense sector, BJP’s UP election campaign started with PM Modi’s visit to Aligarh. key points

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today visited Aligarh and launched the UP BJP election campaign during the inauguration ceremony of Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh State University.

Speaking about the famous Jat king Mahendra Pratap Singh, the PM urged people to take life lessons from him. Focusing on the youth, PM Modi said that if they ever feel disappointed then they should remember the determination and sacrifice of Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh.

PM Modi spoke on various aspects and some of the key points of his Aligarh speech are as follows:

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, referring to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) governments at the Center and the state, under whose leadership, UP was benefiting from a “double-engined government”.
  • PM Modi praised the Yogi Adityanath government for the reduction in crime in the state. PM Modi said that earlier girls were afraid to go out of their homes but the “double engine government” made them feel safe and encouraged them to study and work independently without any fear.
  • Taking a jibe at the Samajwadi Party government, PM Modi said that the people of Uttar Pradesh can never forget the time when the administration was run by goons, the government was in the hands of the corrupt, but now such people are behind bars.
  • Focusing on the farmers, the PM also said that the central schemes have benefited small-scale farmers. PM Modi said, “It is the continuous effort of the Central Government to give strength to the farmers. 1.5x MSP, extension of Kisan Credit Card, improvement in insurance scheme, provision of pension of Rs 3000, many such decisions are empowering small farmers. “. PM Modi also allocated a budget of Rs 1.4 lakh crore for sugarcane farmers which will be used in the coming four years.
  • Talking about the defense corridor, the Prime Minister said that India is moving ahead with the aim of making its mark as a global defense exporter, unlike earlier when the country was just an importer.
  • PM Modi also drew an analogy between the famous locks of Aligarh and the Defense Corridor, saying that the city is now also contributing to the security of the country’s borders. He said, “Today not only the country but the world is also seeing that from modern grenades and rifles to fighter planes, drones, warships are made in India. India is moving towards creating a new identity of a defense exporter.”
  • PM Modi also announced Rs 9000 crore for development of BrahMos missile at Lucknow node of Defense Corridor.
