The beauty won the title of Miss Kolkata Fair-One Beauty Pageant in 2010, after which she started her modelling career. She debuted in Tollywood in 2011 with the film Shotru opposite Jeet. After this, she carved a niche for herself with hit films like Har Har Byomkesh and Zulfiqar.

In 2019, Nusrat Jahan took a career break and stepped into the political world as TMC leader and Member of Parliament (MP) from Basirhat.

On the personal front, she tied the knot to businessman Nikhil Jain on June 19, 2019, in a private ceremony in Turkey. After a few days of marriage, an argument broke out between the two, and it is needless to say her personal life has been the subject of public interest. The saga of controversies fueled by her marriage with Nikhil Jain took a significant turn in November 2021. A Kolkata court declared their wedding ‘invalid’ under Indian law as it was conducted according to Turkish laws.

It is worth noting that Nusrat earlier accused Nikhil Jain of holding her belongings, including family jewellery and other assets, illegally. She also alleged that her funds had been mishandled from various accounts without her knowledge. This decision marked the end of a long-running dispute between the duo.

Later, the controversy intensified when Nusrat broke the news about her pregnancy in June 2021. Amidst this tumultuous storm, Nikhil Jain cleared the air by saying that he was not the father of Nusrat’s child, sparking another controversy. Social media was rife with speculation when rumours spread like wildfire that the 34-year-old actress was dating actor and West Bengal Assembly poll candidate Yash Dasgupta.

The madly-in-love duo embraced parenthood on August 21, 2021, and were blessed with a baby boy whom they lovingly named Yishaan J Dasgupta.
