Fraudster posing as naval officer arrested in Cuttack, police confiscated goods

A man named Sauryanjan Mishra was arrested in Odisha’s Cuttack on Wednesday for posing as a naval officer and duping a youth, whom he had promised to give him a top job in the merchant navy. When the youth felt that he was being made a victim of fraud, he lodged a complaint against Mishra and the accused was nabbed by the Chauliaganj police.

As per the reports, the youth who has been cheated is a resident of Mahanadi Vihar and was trapped in the trap by pretending to hold a high position job in the Merchant Navy. According to the complainant, Mishra also falsely claimed to be the son of senior police personnel.

Mishra had allegedly promised youth jobs in the Merchant Navy in Sharjah (Dubai). After the complaint of the case, Chauliaganj police started investigation and arrested the accused. Police also recovered a car, fake navy uniform and Rs 33,800 from the accused.
