Former PM Manmohan Singh admitted to Delhi’s AIIMS after complaining of fever

New Delhi: Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in the national capital after he complained of fever.

Meanwhile, the Congress party has described it as a routine treatment and also said that Singh’s condition is stable.

“There are some baseless rumors regarding the health of former PM Dr Manmohan Singh ji. His condition is stable. He is undergoing regular treatment. We will share any updates as required. We thank our friends in the media for their concern,” Congress leader Pranav Jha said on Twitter.

Manmohan Singh, who was the Prime Minister of India from 2004 to 2014, was infected with COVID-19 earlier this year. He was admitted to the AIIMS Trauma Center on April 19 after testing positive for coronavirus.

However, the veteran politician was discharged on April 29. In terms of his medical condition, the 88-year-old Congress leader is suffering from diabetes and has also had two bypass surgeries, one in the UK in 1990 and the other one. in AIIMS Delhi in 2009.

Singh was also admitted to the hospital in May last year due to fever.

Recently, the Congress party has announced Singh as the head of the party committee on celebrating 75 years of independence. The announcement was made by Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi, who said the committee would plan and coordinate the one-year-long celebrations of the 75th anniversary of independence.
