New Delhi: Senior Chinese General zhang zudong who stepped down as head of Western Theater Command (on the border with India) died in June at the age of 58.
According to sources, he was suffering from cancer and gastrointestinal problems. He was replaced as the head of the Western Theater Command after just six months as part of a series of leadership. His replacement, Xu Qing, stepped down after just two months and is said to be in poor health amid illness among commanders and soldiers stationed in the area.
