Jammu: Terrorists shot dead a former Special Police Officer (SPO) of Jammu and Kashmir Police, his wife and daughter at their house in Hariparigam village of Pulwama district.
The incident happened on Sunday in which his daughter also suffered serious injuries in the attack. Police said that the security forces have started a search operation to trace the attackers by cordoning off.
According to the Kashmir Zone Police, the terrorists opened indiscriminate fire after entering the house of SPO Fayaz Ahmed of Hariparigam in Awantipora. He along with his wife and daughter have suffered serious injuries in this terrorist incident.
He was taken to a local hospital where the SPO and his wife Raja Begum succumbed to their injuries. His daughter Rafia was taken to the hospital for treatment but later succumbed to her injuries.
Jammu and Kashmir LG Manoj Sinha has strongly condemned this dastardly attack and called it a cowardly act.
Double blasts in Jammu and Kashmir
The incident took place on a day when terrorists attacked an Air Force base in Jammu in the first drone strike on an Indian military installation.
Two Air Force personnel sustained minor injuries in the blasts at a high-security airport located about 14 km from the border with Pakistan.
Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police Dilbag Singh on Sunday termed the twin blasts at the high-security Indian Air Force station at the Jammu airport as a terrorist attack. The first blast occurred from the roof of a single-storey building in the technical area of the Indian Air Force-run airport in Satwari area of the city. The other was on the ground, officials said. He said police, air force and other agencies were investigating the attack.
