In a bid to boost AAP in Haryana, former Congress leader Ashok Tanwar is all set to join the Arvind Kejriwal-led party. Party sources said that he will join the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Monday in the presence of AAP national convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

Tanwar, a former MP from Haryana’s Sirsa, left the Congress in 2019. He was the President of the Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC) and also served as the President of the Indian Youth Congress and the party’s student wing NSUI.

Tanwar’s joining hands with the party, which is working on expanding its base in Haryana in view of the assembly elections in 2024, is expected to come as a shot in the hands of AAP. Several local leaders from Congress, BJP and other parties joined recently. AAP after the party’s thumping victory in Punjab.
