Former Bengal minister Rajiv Banerjee likely to be expelled from BJP

The expulsion of former West Bengal minister Rajiv Banerjee from the BJP was only a matter of time, party sources said, even after the rebel leader’s meeting with Trinamool Congress national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee at his South Kolkata office on Saturday evening. . As Rajiv Banerjee denied any such development.

Rajiv Banerjee, who left the Trinamool and joined the BJP just before the assembly elections, was warned twice for anti-party activities, but it hardly had any effect.

“They have been served two show-cause notices, but they have not responded to even one of them. So it is expected that he is not ready to continue in the party.”

“He is still a member of the BJP and he holds secret meetings with the leaders of the opposition party. This amounts to anti-party activities. So, now we are determined to take a major decision, which will be announced within a week or two.”

Therefore, before Banerjee leaves the saffron brigade, the party wants to expel her and accordingly, the details have been sent to the party high command in New Delhi. Now the members of the disciplinary committee are just waiting for the green signal from them.

Banerjee was a minister in the previous Trinamool government, but left to join the BJP and contested on behalf of the saffron party from Domjur assembly seat, where he was an MLA earlier, but lost. Soon after his defeat, he became a rebel and started making anti-party statements or avoiding party meetings.

The former minister says that the news of expulsion is fake.
