Azad said on Prime Minister Modi, “I found some bills to be a complete failure, but I must give him credit that he behaved like a politician, did not take revenge.”

Former Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad praised the Prime Minister on Tuesday Narendra Modi And said he was “very generous” to her, and never took any “revenge” despite her comments on several issues including Article 370, CAA.

In conversation with news agency YearAzad said, “I must give credit to Modi. He was very generous with what I did to him. As the leader of the opposition, I have not spared her on any issue, be it Article 370 or CAA or Hijab.

Azad said, “I have seen some bills completely fail, but I must give credit to him that he behaved like a politician, did not retaliate.”

This is not the first time that Azad has expressed his positive opinion about the Prime Minister. In 2021, he said that he respected the fact that the prime minister did not hide his past and was proud of where he came from and what he had done.

“Even our prime minister used to come from the village and sell tea. We are political rivals but I appreciate that he does not hide his real self,” Azad had said at an event in Jammu.

In August 2022, Azad said that he thought of Modi as a “brutal man”, but his perception has changed.

In fact, upon Azad’s retirement from Parliament, Modi delivered an emotional address on the floor, and was in tears as he bid farewell to the veteran politician.

Azad resigned from the Grand Old Party in August last year. He resigned from all party posts, including his primary membership, ahead of the organizational elections and accused the leadership of “cheating” the party in the name of “evening” internal elections.

He also criticized Rahul Gandhi in his resignation letter.

In a five-page no-holds-barred letter to Congress president Sonia Gandhi ahead of crucial organizational elections in the party, Azad said he was doing so with a “heavy heart”.

Azad, who is a member of the G-23 group seeking a change in the party, said the Congress has lost both the will and the ability to fight for what is right for India under the patronage of the AICC-run coterie.
