‘For 60 overs, they must feel like hell’: Virat Kohli’s fiery speech at Lord’s goes viral

Virat Kohli-led Team India registered a historic victory by defeating England by 151 runs in the India vs England Lord’s Test on Tuesday. This is India’s third win so far at the iconic Lord’s ground and with this win, the visitors have now taken a 1-0 lead in the India vs England five-match Test series.

On the fifth and final day of the second Test, India had set a target of 272 runs in 60 overs against England. After the brilliant performance of the batsmen, the Indian bowlers bundled out the English team for 120 runs in the 52nd over itself. #60 started trending on social media after India’s win.

The reason for this was captain Virat Kohli’s rousing motivational speech before the start of England’s second innings as the Indian team came out to defend a total of 272 runs.

This speech of Kohli is becoming quite viral on social media. Meanwhile, the Indian captain can be heard telling his teammates that ‘England should feel like hell in 60 overs’.

Things miraculously turned in India’s favor. Kohli’s speech seems to have worked well as both the England openers had already returned to the pavilion. Captain Joe Root then tried to take over the fort for his team, but eventually fell for 33 runs. Mohammad Siraj (4/32) and Jasprit Bumrah (3/33) were the bowlers’ picks for India.

Resuming Day 5 on 181/6, India suffered a major setback when Rishabh Pant was sent off early packing by Ollie Robinson. But, tailenders Shami and Bumrah put on a record-breaking 89-run partnership in the opening session – India’s first 50-plus 9th wicket stand – to help their squad get back in the game.
