new Delhi: Food delivery platforms Zomato and Swiggy on Wednesday reported a brief nationwide outage due to a technical issue, but for now both platforms are now back up.

The report states that Zomato and Swiggy are dependent on Amazon Web Services like many other online platforms. Both the food delivery platforms were closed due to a technical snag.

People came to know about a technical glitch in the apps of Zomato and Swiggy on Wednesday afternoon. When they tried to order lunch on their app but their orders could not be submitted. After this, people tagged the companies on Twitter and complained about their apps not working and saying that they are not able to place their orders.

On a customer complaint, Zomato Care acknowledged the technical snag and expressed regret for the inconvenience caused to the customers. In its reply on Twitter, Zomato Care wrote, “Hi, we were experiencing a temporary glitch. Thanks to our Techmates, we are back up and running. We are sorry and hopeful for any inconvenience caused in the interim. that we will serve you better in the future”.

“Hi, we are currently unable to process your request as we are facing technical constraints. Not to worry, our best mind is on this and we will be up and running soon,” Swiggy Cares said Responded to an angry user on Twitter.

Zomato and Swiggy are the fastest growing food delivery apps in the country. Together, the two companies have captured up to 95 percent of the country’s food delivery market. In such a situation, due to the technical problem started in both the apps on Wednesday afternoon, many people had to face a lot of problems in ordering food.
