And most importantly, do you know that the process of affiliation is complete only when the schools meet certain criteria, which include both infrastructure and education?

Before getting your school affiliated to CBSE here are some criteria you need to know.

class infrastructure

The area of ​​each classroom in a CBSE school should be at least 8 meters x 6 meters (about 500 square feet). There should be at least one square foot of floor area for each student. Every science laboratory in CBSE schools, especially secondary and higher secondary schools where science is taught, should be at least 9 meters x 6 meters in size or at least 600 square feet.

The library of a CBSE affiliated school should be at least 14 m x 8 m in size. The library should have books for every subject and class according to the age of the children. Keeping in view the demands of the present, books should include electronic versions of both fiction and non-fiction, reference works, encyclopedias, publications, magazines, journals and newspapers.

There should not be any such book or reading material in the library, which can create hatred towards each other’s faith and languages ​​among the students. Books which have been rejected by the Board or the Government should not be kept in the library. The school should regularly issue books from the library to each student. There should be proper budget arrangement in the school library.

The computer lab of a CBSE affiliated school should be at least 9 meters x 6 meters in area or at least 600 square feet. There should be at least 20 computers in the lab. The institution should have high-speed internet connection. A school with 800 students should have at least one computer lab. If senior secondary students are taking courses in Computer Science or Information Technology, a separate computer lab with suitable setup should be available. Schools should prioritize cyber security.

If there is more space in a school, separate rooms can be made for activities like music, dance, art, sports etc. For these events, the school can also set up a large multipurpose hall if it so desires. There should be enough space for 40 children to sit in each section. In addition, the affiliation bylaws stipulate that each school must have the same class size.

There should be a water dispenser for the students on each floor of the school. Employees should also have a separate toilet facility. The school should have all the necessary equipment and resources to teach home science, vocational subjects, career related subjects and arts. The school must comply with fire safety regulations and must have an outdoor basketball court, volleyball court, kabaddi court and an athletic course.
