Due to incessant rains, floods are showing their fierce form in 17 districts of UP. More than 400 villages are in the grip of floods. The situation is worse in Jalaun and Hamirpur in Bundelkhand. About 70 villages of Jalaun and more than 60 villages of Hamirpur have been submerged in the floods. Recently, the Jal Shakti Minister had visited the flood-hit areas. After his report, CM Yogi will take an aerial tour of Etawah and Auraiya today and take stock of the floods. Here, due to Ganga and Varuna in Varanasi, a population of 10 thousand and in Prayagraj a population of 1 lakh have been affected by the floods.

The floods have affected the districts of Varanasi, Prayagraj, Agra, Auraiya, Ballia, Bahraich, Banda, Hamirpur, Chandauli, Etawah, Farrukhabad, Kanpur Dehat, Kanpur Nagar, Kaushambi, Gorakhpur, Jalaun and Chitrakoot. Here rivers like Ganga, Ghaghra, Chambal, Yamuna, Betwa are showing their fierce form.

Not only this, the water of Yamuna is also increasing dangerously here. According to Prem Kamal, the site in-charge of the Central Water Commission, the water level of Yamuna was at 121.72 meters on Sunday morning. Which reached 121.79 meters late on Sunday night. Actually, due to the increased water in the Chambal river, the water level of Yamuna has also increased. At the same time, in Auraiya also, about 40 villages on the banks of the river are affected by floods. Contact with their headquarters has been lost. Police administration and NDRF are engaged in relief work.

Varanasi: 10 thousand population affected by floods

Mokshadayini Ganga is now seen in a destructive form in Varanasi. At 8 am on Monday, the Ganga was flowing at 71.38 meters, 12 cm above the danger mark of 71.262 meters in Varanasi. Varuna is also rapidly overflowing due to the reverse flow of the Ganges. In Varanasi, thousands of people living in the coastal areas have been thrown into trouble due to the floods in these two rivers. District Magistrate Kaushal Raj Sharma said that about 10 thousand population of the district is affected by the floods. All the officers of the village, block, tehsil and district level have been directed to listen seriously to the problems of the people of the flood affected areas and get them resolved immediately.

Prayagraj: No electricity or water in flood affected areas

The Sangam city of UP is in the grip of floods. Boats have started plying instead of vehicles in the streets of more than two dozen localities of the urban area. Rural areas are also no exception to this. Afar floods have occurred in the localities situated on the banks of the Sangam. On Monday also, the water level of Ganga Yamuna has been increasing continuously. The people of the administration are roaming in these areas but they are not able to fulfill the basic needs. There has been a problem of light and water in the area for the past several days. Here a population of 1 lakh is said to be affected in urban and rural areas.

Hamirpur: 12th student drowned in the river, the young man was bitten by poisonous insects

In Hamirpur, floods have created a ruckus for the last three days. Instead of improving, the situation is getting worse here. Yamuna is flowing four meters above the danger mark. While Betwa is two and a half meters above the danger mark. Due to which more than two dozen villages have been affected. Out of which 8 villages are affected by Yamuna and 16 villages due to Betwa. At the same time, water has entered more than half a dozen localities in the headquarters. Some areas have to be evacuated. People have camped along the National Highway.

In Hamirpur, a 12th class student who went to bathe with friends in the overflowing Chandrawal river in village Kaithi of Sumerpur police station area drowned. After getting information about the incident, the police station officer, who reached the spot, is busy in search of the student with the help of villagers and divers. The body of the student was recovered from the river after five hours of effort. Upendra’s body was recovered from the river just a short distance from the spot. The body was stuck in the mud inside the river. Mouni Baba was a student of Birbhumi Inter College operated in village Mundera of Upendra area. At the same time, a person who went to drive a buffalo in Beri village was bitten by a poisonous insect. He died on the way to the hospital for treatment. Police have taken the body in possession and sent it for post-mortem. Villagers say that in the event of floods, we all keep facing such horrors.

Due to the rapid rise in the water level of Yamuna river, the danger of flood has increased in dozens of villages of Rajapur Tihar area. Rajapur Kamsin Highway near Sardhua has come to a standstill due to floods. The arrangements of the local administration are becoming inadequate. Dozens of areas like Arki, Atrauli, Naini Biharwa, Gurgaula, Dhaurhara, Dewari and Bakta are engulfed by floods. The villagers are engaged in arranging their daily necessities by sitting in boats.

Kaushambi: Yamuna beyond the danger mark, administration is doing Munadi

The water level of Yamuna is continuously rising. The condition is that the contact of half a dozen villages of Chail tehsil has been broken from the headquarters road. Seeing the water level of Yamuna, the people of a dozen villages settled in the Terai region are worried. People have been asked to be alert by conducting Munadi in the villages. On Wednesday, 18 lakh cusecs of water was released into the Yamuna from Dholpur barrage in Rajasthan, the effect of which is now visible in the district. The water level has been rising continuously for the last three days. Due to the sudden release of water in Yamuna, hundreds of bighas of farmers’ crops sown in the alluvium have been ruined due to the high water level.
