Flood like situation in Noida, Over night rescue operation on

Noida: Flood-like conditions have also arisen in Noida due to continuous rains in the rivers of the hilly areas and rise in the water level of the Yamuna. More than ten feet of water has been filled in Noida Sector 124, 125 and 135. Hundreds of people are stranded in these sectors due to water-logging. Noida Police is engaged in evacuating the trapped people and cattle for the last 3 days.

On Friday morning, all the three DCPs of the district visited the water affected and flood prone areas. The situation is being reviewed. So far 2 thousand cattle and about 700 women, men and children have been rescued from the flood affected areas.

According to the information received from the Police Commissionerate, a flood situation has arisen due to the increase in the water level in the Yamuna river. Police Commissioner Laxmi Singh himself is monitoring the flood affected area. The DCPs and ADCPs of all the three zones have been ordered to visit the water-affected areas continuously and help the victims. Officers and employees of the local police force, SDRF team and fire service are continuously taking action. Local people and cattle are being rescued

On Thursday, DCP Noida Harish Chander, ADCP Noida and ACP-1 Noida visited Sector-126, Sector-127, Village Nangla Wajidpur and Village Asgarpur. Greater Noida DCP Saad Miyan Khan has inspected the water-affected villages Makanpur Khadar, Makanpur Bangar, Latifpur, Atta Gujran, Atta Fatehpur and Navrangpur. People living in huts, houses, tubewells etc. in Khadar of Yamuna around the village have been removed. Due to rising water level of Yamuna, those people and their animals have been evacuated safely. Police duty has been imposed on the dam built near the village. To avoid any untoward incident, the police have appealed to the villagers not to go towards the water-affected area through public address system and mike mobile vehicle. Those who are living in low-lying areas should reach a safe place.

Due to rise in the water level in Yamuna, traffic diversion has been done on the route from Noida-DND toll border towards Delhi-Ashram. It has been said by the traffic police that the drivers can reach their destination by using the alternate route Kalindi Kunj, Noida-Chilla border.
