Five people were killed and 10 others were injured when a vehicle carrying passengers overturned on the Solapur-Akkalkot route on Tuesday morning. Preliminary investigation suggests that the accident may have been caused by a tyre burst.

According to the information given by Solapur Rural Police, the accident happened at around 9.30 am near Kumbri village of South Solapur tehsil of Solapur district, located about 265 km from Pune. The multi-utility vehicle was on its way to Solapur city carrying passengers from the temple town of Akkalkot in the morning.
Valsang police station assistant inspector Atul Bhosale said, “Based on preliminary investigation, we believe that the vehicle went out of control after the front tire burst. The vehicle overturned at least twice, causing serious injuries to the passengers.

After getting information about the accident, the police reached the spot and admitted the injured to the government hospital and a nearby private hospital. Five of them were declared brought dead on arrival.

Barring one dead woman, who is yet to be identified, the four others killed in the accident have been identified as Katyaav Yallappa Bansode (55), Basavaraj Bansode (27), Anand Erappa Gaikwad and Laxman Muralidhar Shinde (42). happened.
