Police have arrested two youths who attacked AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi’s convoy in Hapur, Uttar Pradesh on Thursday evening. The attackers fired four rounds. Owaisi’s car got a hole in the lower part of it after being hit by two bullets. Owaisi is safe. Late in the evening, Owaisi said that this is a well-planned conspiracy and the incident should be investigated.
After the incident on Thursday evening, the assailants fled leaving the weapon on the spot. Kalawa was tied in a gun. One of the attackers was caught by the police shortly after the incident. His name is Sachin. He is a resident of Badalpur, the village of former CM Mayawati located in Greater Noida.
The second accused, Shubham, who was absconding late in the evening, has also been arrested by the police from Sihani Gate police station area of Ghaziabad district. In some posters, his photo with BJP leaders is also visible. In his Facebook profile, he has described himself as a patriot Sachin Hindu. At the same time, in a photo, he is also seen wearing a green kurta with Gautam Budh Nagar MP Dr Mahesh Sharma.

Owaisi was going to Delhi after meeting in Meerut
Owaisi was on his way to Delhi via Hapur-Ghaziabad after holding a meeting in Kithor area of Meerut district on Thursday evening. Two youths opened fire on Owaisi’s convoy while passing through the Chhijarsi toll plaza on the National Highway in Pilkhua area of Hapur. In this, two bullets hit the lower part of Owaisi’s car. There was a hole in his car. The firing created chaos near the toll plaza. On the information of the incident, the police of Ghaziabad and Hapur districts reached the spot.

In this case, ADG Prashant Kumar told that the news of attack on Owaisi’s convoy has been received. The video footage of there has been extracted. Two youths opened fire. One has been caught. His name is Sachin. He is a resident of Badalpur village. Illegal pistol was recovered from him. It is clear from the video footage that he is involved in the incident. Meerut IG is present on the spot. He did not say anything on what was the reason for the incident. The ADG said that inquiries are being made in this regard. However, some police sources said that angry with Owaisi’s statements, the accused fired at Owaisi.

Why the attack did not say
Owaisi said that two youths on a bike attacked him. One was wearing a hoodie and the other a white jacket. He also told that the police have taken a suspect youth into custody. His interrogation continues. Owaisi spoke to the Additional SP of Hapur district over the phone. The ASP has confirmed the arrest of a youth and the recovery of weapons from Owaisi on the phone. At the same time, some sources said that the attacker himself reached the Chhijarsi police post after the incident. However, why did he attack? The police have not told anything about this yet.

As Owaisi told about the attack
Owaisi told that we had a padyatra in Meerut-Kithor. From Kithor, he left for Delhi on foot. Suddenly there was a loud sound near Chijarsi toll plaza of Pilkhuwa. Friend Yameen was driving our car. Shaukat was sitting with us. At the rear were the Tata Safaris and two Fortuners. Majid Hassan Meyer was sitting in the Fortuner which was behind. His driver got us covered. The accused also fired two rounds at Fortuner.
Before the flyover, we stopped the car and after sitting in another car safari, we left for Delhi. I have spoken to ASP. He has confirmed that a weapon has been recovered. We would expect the government to conduct an independent investigation into who the attackers are, whose mind is behind it, who attacked, who conspired. We have received threats many times. After the incident, Owaisi tweeted- ‘Some time ago shots were fired at my car at Chhijarsi toll gate. 4 rounds were fired. There were 3-4 people, all of them ran away and left the weapons there. My car got punctured, but I got out in another car and left. We are all safe. Alhamdu’lilah.’

I appeal to the Election Commission to conduct an independent inquiry into this attack. It is the responsibility of Modi and Yogi government to get it investigated. I will also meet the Lok Sabha speaker on this matter. Owaisi said in a conversation with the media that today there was no death in the case, so I am alive. He also said that we are not afraid of this blasphemous attack.
Hapur SP said – 5 teams were set up for investigation
Hapar SP said that the force reached the spot immediately after receiving information about the firing by two youths. One person has been taken into custody. He is under interrogation. The weapon used in the incident has also been recovered from him. That’s what was fired. Five teams were formed in search of the second accused. He has also been arrested.

Owaisi is continuously holding meetings in West UP. On Thursday afternoon, he did a door to door campaign in Meerut. During this, he made a scathing attack on SP and BSP.
