Fire in Durg Express: Fire spread in 4 AC coaches at Hetampur station in Morena, passengers saved their lives by jumping

A major fire broke out in four bogies of Durg-Udhampur Express on Friday afternoon at Hetampur railway station in Morena, Madhya Pradesh. All the passengers present in the train jumped and saved their lives. The fire brigade team arrived after getting information and are busy extinguishing the fire. The train was returning from Vaishno Devi. There is no report of any casualties in the incident. The cause of the fire could not be ascertained.

Train No. 20484 Durg – Udhampur Superfast Express does not have stoppage at Hetampur near Morena – Dholpur. Due to lack of signal, the train stopped at the outer. Some passengers noticed smoke coming out of coaches A-1 and A-2. Suddenly the flames started rising.

He immediately dialed the number 100 to inform about it. About 72 passengers were on board in both the bogies. On information about the fire, all the passengers got down from the train and started running. These coaches were separated from the train after the fire was reported. The luggage of the passengers got burnt in the incident.

Railway officer claims – only two bogies caught fire
Northern Central Railway’s CPRO Dr. Shivam Sharma said that fire broke out in A1 and A2 of the train as soon as it left Hetampur station. The passengers have been evacuated safely. After this the front part of the train was separated. Rest of the trains are leaving on their own time.
