Kanpur: On Friday night, two workers were burnt alive due to the leakage of LPG cylinder in a sweet workshop in Kahukothi area of ​​​​Collectorganj police station area of ​​the city.
The fire started at 2.30 pm and quickly spread due to presence of combustible material including sweet boxes, sugar, oil and ‘ghee’ etc. in the stairs passage of the three storey building, in which the sweet workshop was located.
Firefighters brought the fire under control with the help of several fire tenders after about six hours of effort. The sweet shop is owned by Banwari Lal Gupta, a resident of Swaroop Nagar.
After the fire, there was chaos and chaos all around. By the time the fire was brought under control, the sweet shop was burnt to ashes. Property and goods worth several lakhs were gutted in the fire in the sweet workshop.

The workers working in the sweet house in the factory stay at night. On Friday night, 8-10 workers were sleeping in the workshop itself. Then the fire broke out at around 2.30 pm.
“Shyamnath Kashyap (22), a resident of Hardoi, Sunny Prajapati A resident of Basti (23) died in the accident, while Mohit, a resident of Chakeri, suffered serious burns. He has been admitted to Lala Lajpat Rai Hospital. Both the bodies have been sent to the mortuary for post-mortem,” the DCP further said.
