Thane: A godown containing plastic goods was destroyed in a fire that broke out on the premises in Maharashtra on Wednesday morning.
Thane Municipal Corporation’s regional disaster management cell chief Santosh Kadam said there were no casualties in the fire which could be seen from afar.

He said that the fire broke out in the ground plus two storey godown located at Walgaon in Bhiwandi town at around 5 am and on seeing the thick smoke spread in the entire area.
Two fire tenders and a water tanker have been dispatched to the spot, the official said, adding that efforts were on to douse the fire.
He said the cause of the fire was yet to be ascertained.
