“I was a devotee of Yatheeswara Shivacharya Swami. He sent a WhatsApp message asking me to bring some medicines which I had not prescribed. I went to the monastery on September 21 with medicines. He asked me to have a Diclofenac injection, which was supplied to him by the government.
He said that after visiting the monastery, he heard that the seer was suffering from cough, cold and fever since 16 September. He said that he asked the seer to go to Tumakuru or Bengaluru for treatment. But according to Dr Raghavendra the seer said that he had too many rituals and was very busy till Sunday.
“On September 23, the seer called me and said that he was coming to my hospital. The seer Kuppuru came with the PHC doctor. I gave medicines on the advice of PHC doctor. His saturation level was normal, but he had fever and cough. An X-ray was done which showed that more than 50% of his lungs were affected by pneumonia,” said Dr Raghavendra.
