Bridgetown, Barbados: Wicketkeeper Alex Carey will captain Australia in place of injured Aaron Finch in the first three One Day Internationals against the West Indies at the Kensington Oval on Tuesday.
Cricket Australia said on Monday that Finch suffered a knee injury while batting in the fifth Twenty20 in St Lucia last Friday and his fitness for the one-day series will be assessed on a daily basis.
Carey has previously captained the Adelaide Strikers, South Australian Redbacks and Australia A.
The second ODI will be held on Thursday and the final on Saturday at the Kensington Oval. West Indies won the T20 series 4–1, which included the first three matches.
