Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will release the assessment reports of states and union territories under ‘Business Reforms Action Plan (BRAP), 2020’ today (June 30) in the presence of Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal.

business News: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will release the assessment reports of states and union territories under the ‘Business Reforms Action Plan (BRAP), 2020’ today (June 30) in the presence of Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal.

According to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the BRAP report includes 301 improvement points that cover 15 business regulatory areas such as access to information, single window system, labour, environment, sectoral reforms and other reforms spanning the lifecycle of a specific business. .

The ministry said that sectoral reforms have been introduced for the first time in BRAP 2020, in which 72 reforms have been identified in 9 sectors, namely trade licence, healthcare, legal metrology, cinema halls, hospitality, fire NOC, telecom, movie shooting and tourism.

The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has been releasing such reports since 2014 to drive trade reforms to create an investor-friendly ecosystem across the country.

So far 4 editions of evaluation of KS have been released, and the latest version was for evaluation of 2020. DPIIT has started a feedback-based exercise in which feedback was taken from businesses on the quality of implementation of reforms undertaken by the States and UTs.

DPIIT is the institutional anchor for the Ease of Doing Business programme. It added that it has brought in a cohesive approach to improve its business regulatory environment by breaking down silos and in collaboration with States and Union Territories.
