FIH Pro League: Germany men’s team arrives for matches against India without several senior players

An “absolutely different” German men’s hockey team without some of its senior players arrived on Tuesday to face hosts India in a FIH Pro League doubleheader on Thursday and Friday.

The world number six team is currently second in the Pro League table with 17 points from eight matches.

German head coach Andre Henning said that many of his players will make their international debut against India at the Kalinga Stadium.

“We are here with a young team … a completely different team. It is a special moment for most people as they are making their India debut here,” Henning said.
