FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup 2022 line-up complete

Line-up for the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup India 2022 has now been finalized, with Morocco, Nigeria and Tanzania claiming the final three spots in the showpiece event.

This is a significant milestone for India hosting the FIFA women’s competition for the first time.

The names of the three Confederation of African Football (CAF) nations will be in the pot for the official draw on 24 June. Germany, Spain and France will also be introduced to their opponents at the ceremony to be held in hosts India, China PR, Japan, New Zealand, USA, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Zurich.

It is an important moment for Tanzania and Morocco as both countries will make their respective debuts in the global youth tournament. Nigeria, on the other hand, is a regular tournament, having qualified for all but one of the last six under-17 finals.

Tanzania, the first East African nation to reach the final, sealed their place in the famous tournament with a 5-1 aggregate win over Cameroon. They beat Cameroon 1-0 in the second leg of the qualification tournament on Sunday at the Aman Stadium in Zanzibar, with Nima Paul scoring the only goal of the game.

Meanwhile, Morocco sealed the deal after beating Ghana on penalties on Saturday as both teams won their respective home games to level the score at 2-2. Nigeria’s Flamingos advanced to the October final despite being held to a goalless draw with Ethiopia, who won a 1–0 reverse.
