These include Doaba MLAs Bawa Henry, Navtej Cheema, Balwinder Dhaliwal, Rajkumar Chabbewal, Pawan Adia, Sukhpal Singh Khaira along with former Punjab Congress chief Mohinder Singh KP. He has written a letter to Sidhu. It said that making Rana a minister would tarnish the image of the government and the party. All these leaders can also meet Sidhu soon.

Rana Gurjit is also getting support from Doaba in Punjab Congress. MLA Ladi Sherowalia, Sushil Rinku to name a few, who are in support of making Rana a minister. It is also being said that if all the veteran close associates of the Captain are removed, then a strong faction will be formed within the party. Now the final decision on this has to be taken by Navjot Sidhu, CM Charanjit Channi and Congress High Command. Kaka Randeep and Surjit Dhiman are being asked to induct after Rana stepped down as ministers.

High command changed from CM to Deputy CM
