Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday assured farmers in Uttar Pradesh that they would get money along with interest in case of delay in payment of sugarcane. He said the announcement would be part of the BJP’s election manifesto.

Addressing the voters, Shah said, “We have decided to announce in the BJP manifesto that in case of delay in approval of payment, interest will be charged from sugar mills, and money will be paid to farmers along with interest.” ” Here. The minister said that farmers of some areas of the state informed him about the delay in sugarcane payment.

The opposition parties have been attacking the ruling BJP in the state raising the issue of non-payment of sugarcane price to the farmers. Voting in Uttar Pradesh will begin in seven phases from February 10.
