Chandigarh: East Haryana Chief Minister and Leader of the Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda said that BJP-JJP The government is constantly playing with them farmers He lodged a strong objection to stop the government procurement of paddy.
“The government has already caused a lot of damage to the farmers by delaying the procurement of paddy. Due to this a large number of farmers could not reach SME, They had to sell their crops to private agencies at throwaway prices.
The former CM said that now, the government suddenly announced the closure of purchases in many mandis even though all the farmers have sold their crops and a large number of farmers are still reaching the mandis with their crops. If government procurement is stopped in this way, then farmers will not be able to get MSP and they will be pushed into huge financial crisis.
Hooda said that while the government talks about buying every single grain grown by farmers in advertisements, but looking at the ground situation, it seems to shy away from procurement. “Slowly the government is working on a plan to abolish MSP and it is clear that the government’s claims and assurances are only on paper,” he said.
The former Chief Minister said that the fertilizer crisis has deepened in the state for several days as farmers are roaming from door to door even for one kg of manure, while the government claims that there is no shortage in front of the media. It is clear from this that those in power have been cut off from the ground and they are not concerned with the problems of the common people and they are deliberately ignoring it, he said.
Hooda said that apart from issues like MSP and fertilisers, farmers are not getting compensation for losses caused by unseasonal rains and water logging as the government is coming forward to compensate for the loss. “Both the insurance company and the government are denying their role and even the applications of needy farmers are not being accepted. Farmers in the coalition government will neither get MSP, fertilizers nor compensation for damages as it has failed to provide any relief to the farmers.
