Making reels (short video) in the historic Lal Mahal of Pune city cost a lot to a famous Lavani artist. Describing her dance as obscene, a case was registered against four people including the dancer on Saturday. Although, after the video went viral, an apology has been made on behalf of the dancer, but the anger of the people is not calming down.
According to information received from Farsakhana police station, a case has been registered against Lavani artist Vaishnavi Patil and video shooter Kuldeep Bapat and two of his accomplices for doing obscene dance in Lal Mahal. Investigation has revealed that Vaishnavi Patil had shot this video on Tuesday and uploaded it on social media on Wednesday. Although, it has been removed from his account after the video went viral, but it is still going viral on some other accounts.
Shiv lovers have filed a case calling this dance obscene.
Demonstrations are being held against the dancer
The Pune Police registered a case after the Sambhaji Brigade and other progressive organizations launched an aggressive agitation over the incident. On Saturday also some youths have protested outside the Lal Mahal. Protesters allege that despite tight security, how this dance was done and shooting took place inside the palace. It is alleged that why the security guards of the Municipal Corporation did not stop them around the Lal Mahal.
