If the review is successfully conducted, the IMF will release $1.18 billion. It approved a $7 billion loan to help Pakistan avert an economic crisis during Imran Khan’s tenure as Pakistan’s prime minister.

Shehbaz Sharif also criticized his predecessor and accused him of spoiling relations with China. He said the PTI government was inefficient and relations with China had soured during Khan’s rule, stalling development in the country.

Acknowledging that Pakistan was passing through “difficult times”, Sharif said: “The (coalition government) is trying day and night to get the country out of the difficult economic situation”.

Sharif further said, “(PTI) accused our Chinese brothers and companies of corruption.”

Dar later also attacked Imran Khan while participating in a news program on television and challenged him to a debate.

Dar said, “We are compelled to seek instructions from the IMF as you have backed down on sovereign commitments made with the IMF, for which the country is facing severe financial crisis, inflation, unbridled dollar flight, substantial foreign and local debt.” Used to be.” dawnKhan was accused of misleading the nation.
