Fake loot to avoid paying off debt Vadodara News – Times of India

Vadodara: The Padra police in Vadodara has registered a case against a person on the charge of misleading the police by falsifying the robbery incident late on Sunday night. Padra resident Saheed Malik called the control room and informed the police that he was robbed by three unidentified men on Curzon Road on Sunday night.
Malik claimed that the accused stopped the tempo being driven by him and assaulted him. After that, cash worth Rs 1.50 lakh was robbed from them. The police immediately launched an investigation, but Malik’s statements and behavior made him suspicious. Thereafter they interrogated him further after which he confessed to committing the fake crime.
According to the police, Malik had sold a large stock of garlic and grapes in Surat a few days back by taking money from his uncle. Malik got Rs 1.52 lakh from the sale three days ago. He gave Rs 1.30 lakh to his cousin who lives in Surat. To avoid giving back the money he had borrowed to his uncle, Malik fabricated the story of the robbery and called the police. The robbers wound themselves with a blade to injure him.
