Fadnavis, General Secretary Spar in the assembly regarding the BJP MLAs involved in the screening of ‘The Kashmir Files’

Leader of Opposition in Maharashtra Assembly Devendra Fadnavis on Wednesday asked whether state minister Jayant Patil had any problem with BJP MLAs attending the screening of Hindi film “The Kashmir Files”.

Patil retorted that the film is boring after the interval” and Fadnavis should ask the producer of the film to donate his earnings to build homes for displaced Kashmir Pandits.

Patil on Tuesday took a dig at BJP MLAs for attending the screening of the film while business was still going on in the state assembly, saying watching the film was more important to him than issues related to the state’s development. He had apparently referred to a special show of the film organized by BJP leader Kripa Shankar Singh on Tuesday evening.

Speaking in the Lower House on Wednesday, Fadnavis said the minister spoke (about attending the screening) yesterday. We had taken a decision and we watched ‘The Kashmir Files’ yesterday. Are you having a problem with it? We saw it. You talk about it outside (the House), if you have any problem, he said.

Hitting back at the BJP leader, Patil said the film is boring and not interesting enough after the interval. Look, you (BJP leaders) know this. If you are praising the film then it was made by spending 17 crores and it earned 150 crores. The state’s water resources minister asked the producers of the film to donate the proceeds to build houses for Kashmiri Pandits.

Earlier, Fadnavis alleged that the opposition members were not given enough time to raise their issues in the House. Patil, however, denied the allegation.
