Mohammad Amir gave an interesting answer saying that bowling to Babar Azam is like bowling to a tailender

Pakistani fast bowler Mohammad Amir started his feud with Pakistan captain Babar Azam during the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

When asked about a possible faceoff against Azam, Amir gave an interesting answer. The veteran fast bowler said that bowling to Babar would be like bowling to a tail-ender batsman at number 10.

Amir and Babar were in opposite ranks during the second match of PSL 2023 at the National Stadium in Karachi, as Karachi Kings take on Peshawar Zalmi on Tuesday.

Babar who was with Karachi Kings was earlier traded to Zalmi before the start of PSL.

Amid will lead the pace attack of the Karachi-based side which is led by Imad Wasim. However, he spoke on ARY News show PSL Special and played down the personal fight against Babar.

“These types of matchups and player rivalries keep the players on their toes. I personally like these kind of challenges as it keeps me focused. My job is to take wickets and win matches for my team, So for me facing Babar or facing tail-end batsman at number 10 would be the same.”

Babar didn’t focus on his rivalry with Amir alone, saying he sticks to his basics whenever faced with an opponent.

“Competition is always good for the league. Not only Karachi, every team has good quality local bowlers. That’s why all foreigners play this league because it is a quality league. When I play against any quality bowler I stick to my basics,” said the Pakistan captain.

PSL 2023 started on Monday with Lahore Qalandars defeating Multan Sultans by one run. Ace Pakistani batsman Mohammad Rizwan scored 75 in the total of 174/6.

In reply, Fakhar Zaman’s 66-run knock and Mirza Tahir Baig’s knock helped them chase down the required target off the last ball itself.
