Facebook, Google officials appear before parliamentary panel

The issue of misuse of social media platforms was presented before the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Information Technology by officials of Facebook India and Google today.

A parliamentary committee headed by Congress MP Shashi Tharoor summoned Facebook and Google officials.

Facebook’s Country Public Policy Director Shivnath Thukral and General Counsel Namrata Singh testified before the panel on Tuesday.
