Face Gym: Not a facial but a workout for the face – Times of India

keep our shine skin A lot of work is required. Time is moving forward and so are the products used for skin rejuvenation. A new skincare movement was recently founded and started in 2016 by Inge Theron.

Inge was inspired when he spent three months at a hermitage in Mexico, where he used Incan techniques to administer injections to her face, twice a day for an hour. She combined facial massage with electrical muscle stimulation technology and launched her first studio in London’s King’s Road in 2017. She now runs 12 studios in LA, New York, and London, and celebrities, from Ellie Goulding to Anne Marie, are loving it too.

Just as we exercise and work to keep our other body parts toned and fit, our face also needs some exercise to maintain its elasticity.

What is Face Gym?

This technique is complex but also quite easy to understand. A face gym is basically a workout for the face but in the gym studio. All you have to do is lie in an expensive chair and let the masseuse tone the 42 muscles of your face through a series of exercises. This is a workout and not a facial because it uses high-energy kneading movements and cutting-edge techniques. These exercises include knocking, whipping strokes and pinching which is just a warm-up. It takes your face through an entire workout session, starting with cardio and ending with stretching. There are specialized therapies like radiofrequency and cryotherapy that help in sculpting and healing the face in real but effective ways.

Types of Tools Used in Face Gym

1. Medi Lift

2. Multi-sculpture

3. Face Ball

– A hand-sized ball that helps to improve muscle tone, increase lymphatic drainage and relieve tension from your face.

4. Face Gym Pro

– This is an electric stick with two diamond shaped stones on top and comes with a prep facial serum. This tool is a non-invasive facelift that helps in elevating the facial muscles with triple wave technology.

1. Stretch

– Extend your right hand and hold it on the opposite side of your face. While holding the left side take a deep breath and while exhaling slowly tilt your head to the right.

– You will feel an intense stretch in your left side. Use your fingers to hold your head up to stretch the skin around your eyes for more definition. Breathe in and out three times and then come to a relaxed state.

– Repeat this using your left hand.

2. Warm-up

– While maintaining pressure around your face, gently but firmly press down on the heel of your hand. Start at your jawline and apply pressure while pressing hard on the ear.

If you have a hand-sized rubber ball in your house, use that instead.

3. Lips

It focuses on the area above the lips and helps in reducing the nasolabial folds.

– Widen your smile and cover your teeth with your lips. Keeping the position of your lips on your teeth, open your mouth while making an “Om” sound. While doing this, move your head from side to side.

After completing 5 rounds, look up and stretch the neck.

4. Cheekbones and Jawline

– Use your index finger and place them on the sides of your mouth. Pulse the fingers and start pulling outward while coming back in. You will feel that the muscles of your cheekbones are working.

The second exercise involves bringing your right hand to the right side of your face for side crunches. Holding the face, blow air with good intensity from your mouth to the left.

Repeat this exercise from both the sides and all the tension in your jawline will go away.

5. Eyes

Make a paw with your index finger and place it under your browbone and very gently apply upward pressure. While in this position, try to blink 20 times.

Repeat this exercise on the other eye as well.

For the second exercise, make peace signs with both your hands and place them horizontally on either side of the eyes. Gently open your fingers slightly and pull your eyes back a bit without pulling too much. While in this position, you will blink your eyes 20 times.
