Extramarital dating app Gleeden achieves 2mn users in India; 10mn worldwide

New Delhi: France-based extramarital dating app Gleeden on Monday announced that it has achieved 10 million users worldwide, of which 2 million users come from India alone, a growth of 11 per cent from September 2022.

The company said that most of the new customers (66 per cent) come from Tier 1 cities, with the rest (44 per cent) coming from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.

Sybil said, “India is a country that continues to grow as subscribers on the app, worshiping marriage and monogamy. In 2022 alone we saw 18 per cent new users, growing from 1.7 million in December 2021 to the current Got 2+ million.” India Shidel, country manager for Gleeden, said in a statement.

Designed specifically for married people, the surge in Indian users on Gleeden reflects how traditional concepts of monogamy are slowly changing in the country – much of which may even be consensual, according to the company. .

The company said that most of the Indian users on Gleeden come from high socio-economic background.

Both men and women are professionals such as engineers, entrepreneurs, consultants, managers, officers and doctors and also include a large number of housewives.

Age wise, men are mostly 30+ while women are 26+.

The company also mentioned that the app has been made extra safe for women and thus has 40 percent female users in 2023 compared to 60 percent male users.
