Find out what’s trending on the reels

Instagram now lets creators discover fresh content ideas by adding a dedicated destination to get inspired by the latest trends. Creators will be able to view the top trending songs on Reels, see how many times the audio has been used, tap to use it, or save the audio for themselves.

They’ll also be able to see what the top trending topics and hashtags are on Reels to inform your content. For example, the festive season may be in vogue earlier than you think.

Simplify editing reels

Meta announced improvements to Reels Insights to help creators better understand how their content is performing. It added two metrics: total watch time and average watch time – and made it easier to see their insights while watching the reels directly.

“Total watch time refers to the total time spent playing your reel, including time spent replaying the reel. Average watch time refers to the average time spent playing your reel, with The calculation is done by dividing the watch time with the total number of plays. For example if your average watch time is 17 seconds, then out of all the people who watched your reel, they watched an average of 17 seconds. This will help you understand where people are engaged or where you might need to craft a stronger hook to retain the audience for a longer period of time,” said Meta Blog.

Improving and expanding the gifts on the reels

Meta is expanding the gifting feature to other countries including Australia, Canada, France, Mexico, New Zealand and the UK.

This new feature will show you which fans have sent you gifts so you can recognize your supporters. If you tap the heart icon next to your supporters, they’ll receive a notification that you’ve seen and recognized their gift, providing a stronger sense of connection between you and your fans.
