As Deccan Herald reports, flight services between Bengaluru and Mysuru are suffering as people are largely using other modes of transport such as the Bengaluru-Mysore Express Highway and trains to travel between the two cities. Significantly, the distance between the two cities is 140 km. Also, the time to cover the distance is reduced due to the Bangalore-Mysore Highway on the outskirts of Mysuru, and they take about 70 minutes to cover the distance.

Adding to the short distance, another reason for not using flight to commute between cities is the traffic jams faced to reach Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru due to the constraints surrounding the area.
Train services between Bangalore-Mysore
The frequency of trains on 33 between Bengaluru and Mysuru must be highlighted as being the highest in the entire country. In addition, the train network is aided by the recently introduced Vande Bharat Express train on the route.
Since many passengers prefer to use the Mysuru-Bengaluru Expressway or trains like Wadiyar Express, Shatabdi and Vande Bharat Express to reach Bengaluru, airport officials admitted that the demand for Mysuru-Bengaluru flights is impossible.
Breach in Bangalore-Mysore flight services
As per a report in Deccan Herald, there is no flight between Mysore-Bengaluru from November 2022. The flight on the Mysore-Sindhudurg route was inaugurated on 1 February. However, reports suggested that the flight operated by Alliance Air did not receive any bookings, and the route may fail in the coming future.
