After the drone attack on the Jammu airbase, the Indian Air Force has accelerated the process of procuring anti-drone systems. In view of this, Request for Information (RFI) has also been issued for the purchase of 10 Counter Unmanned Aircraft Systems (CUAS) for the Air Force.

According to the RFI, only Indian companies can participate in it. Regarding the delivery of the system, it states that the delivery of CUAS will be started as soon as possible after the signing of the contract and the full supply will have to be given within 12 months.

Anti drone system will be equipped with these systems
The system should have radar for UAV detection, radio frequency sensor, an electro-optical, anti-infrared system to locate and trace the UAV. There should be a soft kill option, which may include the Global Navigation Satellite Jammer System, RAF Jammer and a hard kill option (Laser-DEW).

Drone attack happened on June 27
Actually, on June 27, there was a drone attack on the Air Force station in Jammu. This was the first drone attack in the country. Now the security agencies have become alert about this. Since then, the work on anti-drone system for the three armies has been intensified.
