US marshals announced arrest of three people In connection with the death of 17-year-old Ethan Liming in the parking lot of Akron School on June 2.

Deshan Stafford Jr., 20, Tyler Stafford, 19, and Donovan Jones, 21, were arrested Saturday morning by the US Marshals North Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force and Akron Police in two separate residential buildings.

“I am pleased to report that today Akron Police Department officials have made several arrests in connection with the death of Ethan Lemming,” Akron Police Chief Stephen Mylett said in a press release. “We thank the members of the community for their support who assisted the investigators in this investigation.”

Liming was brutally beaten to death near a basketball court at around 10:46 p.m. Eye Promise School in AkronosOfficials said the teenager died of a blow to the head when he allegedly got into an altercation over a water gun. Officials say Liming was lying on the ground in the parking lot when police arrived. They were unable to revive him and he was declared dead on the spot.

Police said “in the moments before the incident, one or more occupants” [Liming]The vehicle was shooting a SPLATRBALL water bead blaster at objects and possibly unheard of in people nearby,” according to a statement issued.

They then proceeded towards the basketball court, where a group of teenagers “targeted or approached subjects who were on the court and fired a prison soft gun at them.” These actions seem to have sparked controversy.

At a press conference on June 8, Mylett said that at least two men got out of Liming’s car and opened fire on four people playing basketball on the court. Mylett said that the group fled before gathering in Liming’s car, where Liming was eventually killed.

A water gun was recovered from the scene and was included as evidence in the statement.

In the original press release, Akron Mayor Dan Horrigan said, “Ethan Lemming was a young man with a full life ahead of him, and that bright future was taken from him in the most brutal of ways.”

Liming’s father, Bill, remembered his son as a loving and charitable man with a “bright future” in an interview with Fox News Digital. Liming’s father stated that Liming intended to become a lawyer as the high school junior was starting to prepare for his college tour.
