Ensure that Rohini Court-like incidents don’t happen: Surat Judge | Surat News – Times of India

Surat: A seminar was organized in Surat on Saturday for legal officers and city police officers to deal with cybercrime cases. Principal District Judge VK Vyas appreciated the implementation of the Gujarat Terrorism and Organized Crime Control (GUJCTOC) Act by the police on the occasion.
“Criminals involved in organized crime fear to indulge in criminal activities due to strict enforcement of GujCTOC by Surat Police. I have worked in many places in Gujarat and posted in South Gujarat for the first time. I found that many serious crimes are taking place but are being traced effectively by the police,” said Vyas.
Elaborating on his remarks about the presence of associates of the accused of GujCTOC in the court premises, Vyas said, “I have seen people who know these accused come to the court premises during the hearing of cases. We should ensure that there is no incident like Rohini Court.
Terming it a unique incident, city police commissioner Ajay Tomar said, “For the first time, police, prosecutors, judges, collectors and other senior government officials are present on the same platform. Everyone will benefit from such events.”
“Cyber crime will increase with time and we need to equip more,” said district government counsel Nayan Sukhadwala.
He described the importance of the Forensic Science University in Gandhinagar and its courses on cybercrime.
District Collector, Ayush Oak said, “Electronic evidence will become one of the most important tools in the investigation.”
