Ensure Aasara pension for beneficiaries in three days: Irabeli

Minister convenes meeting with officials to discuss measures to be taken for availing Aasra pension in view of reduction in age

HyderabadPanchayat Raj Minister E Dayakar Rao said on Monday that after the state government’s order to reduce the eligibility of Aasara pension to 57 years from 65 years, detailed details of beneficiaries are being prepared to increase the pension at the earliest.

The Minister convened a meeting with the officials to discuss the measures to be taken in view of the reduction in age for availing Aasara pension. He said that the identification of beneficiaries should be done in a transparent manner and pension should be given to all eligible beneficiaries within three days.

He wanted the officers to expedite the promotion of employees and officers in the Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Department. Similarly, measures should be taken to fill up vacancies in all cadres from village level to district level across the state.

He directed the officers to address all the issues related to the promotion of engineers in the engineering wing of Panchayat Raj Department and all eligible engineers should be promoted.

He said that a detailed report should be compiled on the issues related to pump set mechanics in the department, along with suggesting measures to address the issues.

In view of the recent road damage due to heavy rains, the Minister directed the officials to inspect the area and compile a report on the long-term measures to be taken to ensure that the damage does not recur. He also directed the officials to start minor repair work at the earliest for the convenience of the road users.
