Enrique Nortje of Delhi Capitals has bowled eight of the top 10 fastest balls in IPL 2021; checkout leaderboard

Rishabh Pant’s Delhi Capitals (DC) resumed their Indian Premier League on Wednesday.IPL) campaigned in 2021 style as they crushed Kane Williamson-led Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the league’s 33rd match with eight wickets and 13 balls to spare. For Delhi, the star of the match was Enrique Nortje, who was also playing his first game of the season. Nortje took two wickets for just 12 runs in his four overs.

And as economical as Nortje was with the ball in the said match, it was his quick pace that caught everyone’s attention. In his very first over of the match, Nortje crossed the 150 kmph mark twice and his speed never went below the 145 kmph mark.

It was Nortje’s admirable effort to hit the consistent pace that saw former SRH captain David Warner return to the pavilion for a three-ball duck in the very first over of the match.

Nortje picked up his pace in his second over. He again returned to the ball in the 12th over of SRH’s innings and removed Kedar Jadhav from the attack to further demolish Hyderabad’s middle order.

And, interestingly, by the end of the match, Nortje was the top eight fastest bowler in the IPL in the 14th season of the league.

Meanwhile, in the 36th match of IPL, Delhi will next face Rajasthan Royals (RR) on Saturday, 25 September.
