The encounter of the security forces with the terrorists started in the morning and intermittent firing from both sides continued for a long time. Kashmir’s IGP (Inspector General of Police) Vijay Kumar said that the five terrorists killed are of Lashkar-e-Taiba. One of them is District Commander Nishaj Lone.

After some time, firing started from the terrorists. An army jawan was seriously injured in this. Later he died. Citizens living in the area were evacuated at night itself.

The operation had to be stopped due to darkness. The operation resumed in the morning. Five terrorists have been killed in the encounter. Among them is a Pakistani terrorist named Rehan, who was active in Pulwama. All of them were planning to attack the National Highways of Srinagar and Pulwama.
