Home Minister Amit Shah said in a program in Gandhinagar on Monday that the threat of narco-terrorism is looming over the country and it is very important to stop it. He also said that there is a need to reform the criminal justice system in the country as the era of granting third degree is no more. He was here to inaugurate the Center of Excellence for Research and Analysis of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances at National Forensic Sciences University.

On this occasion, he said, “When the second government of PM Modi was formed, then we had decided that this center should be linked with the Forensic University of Gujarat. I am sure that this university will reach to other states also. And youth will get an opportunity to contribute in forensic science. We are becoming self-reliant in cyber defense and bariatric research.”

The crisis of narco terrorism in front of the country
Shah said, “The threat of narco terrorism is looming before the country. The Center has decided that we will not allow it to enter the country and it will not make its way into India. It is very important to stop it.” He also said that now is not the time to give third degree. We need to reform our criminal justice system. Forensic science will play a big role in this. Our investigations should be on scientific basis.

What is Narco-Terrorism
Narco terrorism is the smuggling and illegal use of drugs. Drugs are lethal, so their illegal use is not allowed. But their illegal market is huge. Incidents of drug smuggling are happening every day. Recently, a woman smuggler was arrested by the Ajmer police of Rajasthan with 95 grams of drugs in the drug smuggling case of 70 crores.
