Effective Skincare Routine that Every Man Needs

Using soap alone will not give you a clean and glowing skin. What you need is a good skincare routine. Contrary to a common belief that a skincare routine is only for women, men need a skincare routine too. It is a form of investment in better health and confidence.

One of the biggest misconceptions about men’s skin care is that people have made it into an endless treasure trove that requires a specific code to decode. Well, like we said, this is a misconception. Because skincare is as simple as exercising, which you should never miss. It keeps your face moisturised, clean and fresh.

To help you make sense of your skincare routine, we’ve got a list of things you can do:

start clean

Cleanliness comes first. Use a good (depending on your skin type) face wash to clean your face in the morning. This will wash off all the products you put on the night before, along with sweat and bacteria.

Do this twice a day, first in the morning and then at night before sleeping.

exfoliate twice a week

Exfoliation is very necessary to remove dead skin cells from the face, making it glowing, smooth and soft. It also prevents breakouts. Use a physical or chemical exfoliant, whichever works best for you.

However, do not overdo it, as it can harm your skin as well. That is why it is recommended to do it twice a week, preferably in the evening, so that your skin gets enough time to recover.

Use a moisturizer with SPF

Always moisturize your skin as it keeps the skin hydrated, and most importantly it maintains the natural moisture level of the skin. Use an SPF-based moisturizer to protect against skin-aging UV rays. Apply once in the morning and again in the evening for proper nourishment.

Always use after shave balm

Dragging a razor across your skin without a protector can cause irritation and inflammation, resulting in redness, razor bumps and dryness. So always use shave balm to keep your skin comfortable and avoid any kind of bumpy or grainy skin.

apply sunscreen when going out

To prevent any sun damage that can lead to age spots, wrinkles, and even skin cancer, always wear sunscreen when outdoors. Use something that is broad-spectrum, water-resistant, and has an SPF of 30 or higher.
