Eerie pictures show decrepit remains of a hoarder’s Alabama home – Henry Club

These eerie images show the decrepit remains of a hoarder’s house in Alabama, with belongings stacked high. The abandoned home was photographed after the owner died. Pictures show a bedroom laden with junk, including a fan, a set of steps, and a clothes rail packed full of women’s clothing as well as narrow walkways the homeowner had made to get around the property.

The property had fallen into a state of disrepair after the homeowner died, with wallpaper peeling from the walls and the fireplace stacked high with food storage tins. The clutter, however, was acquired during the owner’s life.

The images were taken by photographer and urban explorer Abandoned Southeast who explained the smell inside the house was ‘overpowering’ and described how excrement and cat litter was left all over the floor.

He said:’ After walking through the house, my shoes and socks smelled so bad I had to throw them away.’ Pictured: A room overrun with clutter.

As well as clutter inside the property, the garden of the 1890 neoclassical home had also become overgrown.

The home’s staircase had been rendered inaccessible due to piles of junk blocking access, which included a garden bench, a lamp, and empty cat food and games boxes.

And the hoarding didn’t take place just inside the home; it appears the owner had begun piling junk on the porch of the home, too.

The urban explorer went on to call the home ‘a true diamond in the rough.’ Pictured: A room filled with possessions while the wallpaper peels and vines slip through the cracks.

‘I hope these photos are seen by someone who has the means and desire to want to save this house,’ he shared. Pictured: A fireplace mantle piled high with empty tins.

After years of falling into disrepair, nature is taking over many rooms in the property, with branches and leaves creeping in through the windows of another room as well.

At the time the photos were taken, the home still had all of the homeowner’s possessions inside, including clothes, a bed and even medicines in the bathroom cabinet.

Here, the wallpaper is seen clearly peeling off the walls.
