Manish Sisodia was produced in Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court on Friday.

ED produced Manish Sisodia in the court on Friday in the Delhi Liquor Policy case. On March 10, the court sent Sisodia on ED’s remand for 7 days (March 17), which ended today. According to sources, ED has sought 7 days more remand of Sisodia from the court. The court has reserved its decision on this. The court will give its verdict shortly.

Arguments of both sides in the court …
ED bid- analyzing Sisodia’s mobile data

The ED told the court that Sisodia had changed his phone after a complaint by the LG. His mobile data has been retrieved. Now the agency is analyzing his email and mobile phone data. Still have to ask Sisodia more questions.

Sisodia’s lawyers are opposing it. He said that ED has not mentioned any crime against Sisodia. Wherein, when the CBI has inquired into the matter, then what is the need for the ED to inquire?

ED arrested Sisodia on 9 March
The probe agency had arrested Sisodia from Tihar Jail on March 9 in connection with the money laundering case in the Delhi Liquor Policy case. After this, on March 10, Sisodia was produced in Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court. ED had sought 10 days remand of Sisodia from the court. After this, the court sent the former deputy CM on remand till March 17.

Earlier on February 26, CBI arrested him after 8 hours of questioning in the Delhi Liquor Policy case. The court will hear Sisodia’s bail plea on March 21 at 2 pm.

The court has said to hear the bail in the CBI case on getting time. The photo is of March 6, when Sisodia was being taken to Tihar Jail.

ED had given these arguments in the last hearing

1. Sisodia’s representative met K Kavita
ED’s lawyer Zohaib Hussain had said, ‘Sisodia’s assistant Vijay Nair was coordinating this entire conspiracy. Government machinery, middlemen and many others are involved in this scam. This conspiracy was hatched by Nair, Sisodia, Kavitha, daughter of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and many others. A money trail of Rs 219 crore has been detected in this case.

2. South’s group bribed AAP leaders 100 crores
He said, ‘The group from the south gave a bribe of 100 crores to AAP leaders. A group was formed so that 30% of the liquor business could be run in Delhi. Documents show that Nair met Kavitha as a representative of Sisodia. Nair wanted to tell Kavita how Sisodia can influence liquor policy.

3. 14 phones were broken in a year, they were not in the name of Sisodia
Zoheb said, ’14 phones have been used and replaced in a year’s time. They were also broken. Sisodia used phones that were bought by others. The SIM card was also not in the name of Sisodia so that later he could use this in his defence.

4. Sisodia has been procrastinating since the beginning
He argued, ‘Not even a single phone was in the name of Sisodia. One SIM card was in the name of Devender Sharma. This shows that evidence was destroyed on a large scale in this case. You see for yourself why we want custody of Sisodia. They have been procrastinating since the beginning.

Sisodia’s lawyer gave these arguments

1. Liquor policy made by an elected government
Manish Sisodia’s lawyer Dayan Krishnan said, ‘ED is saying that this policy is wrong. An elected government has made this policy. It passes through many layers. It goes to the government, it goes to the officers. Finance and goes to the Law Secretary. This policy goes to the Lieutenant Governor.

2. ED talking about haste, there are many such examples
He said, ‘This liquor policy went to the Lieutenant Governor. LG means Central Government. They asked 3 things, but none of them was related to profit margin or eligibility. ED is talking about haste. I can give many such examples of haste. Demonetisation was done and it was also declared constitutional by the Supreme Court.

3. ED could not investigate even a single rupee, just saying – we heard
Krishnan said, ‘ED is saying that Vijay Nair was working on behalf of Sisodia. ED has not been able to find anything so far in which even a single rupee has been sent to Sisodia. Why hasn’t he done so yet? See the document. ED is saying everywhere, we heard, we heard.

4. The investigating agency has started considering it as its right to arrest
Sisodia’s second lawyer Mohit Mathur said- These days it has become a fashion that the investigating agencies are arresting people considering their rights. The time has come, the court should act strictly in such cases.
